I need to find another relay I can get in on ASAP, I'm having withdrawls, SoCal was almost five months ago! Too long. But, I also don't have any money to spend on a relay at the moment, as all extra money is going toward a new bike, more on that later (I wasn't stressing about the money for Napa because someone else was footing the bill, sigh). So, I may have to wait until next year to relay it up again.
Is it weird that I miss being in a van full of sweaty, tired people, eating goldfish crackers and candy and getting no sleep? Maybe to someone who has never run a relay, but for you relay vets, you understand, right? Its fun getting in a decorated van full of strangers and running ~200 miles with them. I promise. If you've never done a relay, you really should.
This past year I've been an ambassador for the Ragnar Relay, and I have been so honored to be a part of that program. It's been fun telling people all about Ragnar and sharing my experiences. Its been a great program to be involved with, and while I won't be an ambassador on the same level this year, I'll keep spreading the Ragnar love far and wide, and will continue to rock my ambassador gear. I really do love this race and this company. It's been an incredible year and I'm sad to see it end.
I can't wait to run next my relay. Anyone want to get me on a team, preferably for free (so I can get my new bike)? I promise, I'm super fun on a relay, and I'm willing to run pretty much any legs, I'm not super fast, but I can run super long and I don't take up too much space in a van (I'm a packing professional!). Anyone wanna sponsor me? Please.... No? Okay... Until next time.
Good luck to everyone running Ragnar Napa this weekend! I wish I could be there.
Also, to be discussed in a future post - a bad trend that formed this year of dropping races. I really need to stop that, or just register for less stuff. I did keep the races that were the most important to me, and I haven't registered for anything in a while, so that's a step in the right direction. And, it has been nice not having anything on the schedule that I need to train for, its been three years since I've had a few months of nothing on the calendar, nice change of pace. Time to focus on speed and form (in swim, bike AND run).
Seriously though, anyone want to sponsor me for a relay team? *crickets*
