all purple and deep and ugly.
I haven't been on a spin bike since this ridiculous incident. Because of the sprain I had to stop running for a couple of months and scrap my plans to run the LA Marathon this year, a very difficult decision to make. Needless to say I was not excited about the idea of getting on a spin bike again. But, last night I did. I went to 24 Hour Fitness (which I just joined a week ago) and decided to give a spin class a go. It was hard, but not as hard as everyone makes it out to be all the time. It was a good workout, although I still prefer running, which I did for about 20 minutes after the class.
During the spin class I definitely had moments of fear. I kept worrying that I was going to fall off the damn bike again. Because of the location of my bike I would've fallen into the mirror or a pole and banged my head. (I tried to pick a bike that was nowhere near anyone else, so if I did fall I wouldn't cause a chain reaction.) Not sure if the fall would've been worse. But, it definitely would've been more embarrassing, since this time everyone was on a spin bike, whereas last time I was the only one on the bike. Every time we were out of the saddle I could swear the bike was wobbling and I might fall. I tried really hard not to think about falling and just focus on pedaling, which was no easy feat, since I'm now mildly frightened of the damn bike. I really didn't want to fall and hurt myself again.
